About Precious Stones and the Chinese Heaven

The gardens, groves, houses, and palaces of the Buddhist heaven are elegantly adorned with seven orders of gem stones and there are pearly stairs and pearly bridges.

The Chinese say there are thirty-three stories of Heaven, in the uppermost of which Budhu, seated on a lotus, surveys all the world. The land of Fuh is yellow gold. Its gardens, groves, houses, and palaces are elegantly adorned with seven orders of gems. It is encircled with seven rows of trees, seven elegant networks, and seven fences of palisades. In the midst are seven towers of gems, seven flights of pearl stairs, seven pearly stairs, seven pearly bridges, nine classes of lotus, etc.
